Baguio has a strong connection the pageant scene.
The featured photo above is of the Miss Baguio 2019 Competitors. The Miss Baguio 2019 pageant was more than a month long. It was won by Alana Rhedey from Irisan which is the biggest barangay in Baguio. Ms. Rhedey is part Ibaloi, which is an indigenous ethnic group found in the southeastern two-thirds of Benguet, and in La Trinidad, Itogon, Kabayan, Bokod, Tublay, Sablan, Tuba, and parts of Kapangan and Atok. She is also part Hungarian and part German.
Recently Roxanne Allison Baeyens from Baguio City won the national search of the Face of Tourism Philippines 2019 pageant. Roxanne then at 23 years old went on to be crowned Miss Philippines Earth in July 2020. She was the fist to win the title via virtual contest.
Baguio is also a regular city stop for the Miss Universe Philippines. For 2020 the Preliminary competition and Grand Finals will be filmed at Baguio Country.
